Knowledge Base: Collaborators

The collaborators section provides a way to keep track of who is working on a song or podcast with you and what exactly they are doing. On the left is a list of all collaborators on the song or podcast. On the right is the details of the currently selected collaborator, including their name, role, notes, contact details and other items that are specific to whether they are working on a song or podcast.

Adding collaborators

To add a podcast, click the **Add Collaborator button. You will be presented with a sheet that will allow you to add a collaborator from Minim's internal address book or from your system wide address book. To add a new collaborator from Minim you just need to start typing their name. If the user doesn't exist then you can also type in their email and location. If they do then hitting tab will autofill their details. To add from your system wide address book click From Address Book and select the contact from your address book to add.

Roles

The roles pop up lets you choose what task a collaborator has on the song or podcast. You can customise these from the preferences.

Royalities

For collaborators on songs, you can enter a percentage royalty that the collaborator will get from the song. This makes it easy to keep track of some of the financial aspect of song writing.

Show as Artist/Participant

Not all collaborators appear as an artist or participant on a song or podcast. For example, the artist of a song is often the performer not the producer (assuming these are different people). In order to have a collaborator appear as an artist or participant click the Show as Artist or Show as Participant checkbox

Address book integration

Minim integrates with Address Book to provide you contact details for your collaborators from within the collaborator view. In order to display these details a collaborator must be linked with and Address Book record. If you created the collaborator within Minim you will see a button titled Link with Address Book. Clicking this will bring up a sheet that allows you to choose an address book card to associate with this contact.
