Getting Started
Welcome to the Minim 2.0 manual. Minim is designed to make managing the results of your creativity easy. This manual will tell you all you need to know about using Minim. So lets get started and actually get Minim:
Download & Install
If you haven't already done so you will need to download the latest version of Minim from here. After you have downloaded it, then double click the disk image that was downloaded to mount it (if it hasn't already mounted). To install simply drag Minim to your Applications folder. You can then unmount the disk image by dragging it to the trash or clicking the eject button in the Finder:

You may also want to drag Minim from your Applications folder to your dock for easy access in the future.
Upgrade From 1.x
If you are upgrading from an earlier version of Minim, you will be greeted with the upgrade dialogue. This will give you the option to upgrade your library to 2.0 or to start a fresh library. Clicking Upgrade will update your library to be compatible with 2.0. Libraries compatible with Minim 2.0 are not compatible with Minim 1.x, so your old library is renamed to Minim_OLD.sql in case you need to downgrade.
The one option when upgrading is to add yourself as a collaborator to all imported items. Minim 1.x took for granted that you would be an artist on every item in your library and so listed you in each. In Minim 2.0 you instead have to add yourself as a collaborator, giving you much more flexibility in your role in the song or podcast. It is recommended you leave this option checked.
If you want to have a clean start with Minim 2.0 then you can choose to Start a New Database.
Register
If you haven't registered Minim then you will be presented with the register panel. Until you register you will be limited to 10 songs, 10 podcasts, 2 albums and 2 shows. You can purchase a licence by clicking the Buy Licence button to be taken to our store. Once you have bought a licence, enter your name and registration code into the fields and click Register, then follow the instructions on screen. NB. You have to enter the details exactly as they appear in the email. If you want to try Minim unregistered you can click Later.
