Knowledge Base: Recording & Playback
Minim provides the ability to record and playback audio from within the application.
Recording audio
To record audio you first need to bring up the recording panel. To do this click Record in the toolbar or choose Record from the Library menu. The record panel has very few controls. Primarily there is a timer a level indicator and a Start Recording button. When you click this it will start recording audio through the system default input device. To stop then click the button again, which is now renamed to Stop Recording.
The UI will now change to allow for playback. You can play back the recording by hitting Play and skip to a certain point in the recording by clicking on the progress bar (in the location of the level indicator). Alternative you can wipe the recording and start again by clicking Clear Recording. Once you have finished recording, click Save to add the recording to the item that was selected when you chose to record (either the selected song or podcast or the Ideas section).

Playing back audio
To play back a song it must be set as the master audio file of a song or podcast. When this has been set you can click the play button next to a song or podcast to begin playing it .(GOT) The playback panel will then pop up in the lower left of the window. From here you can pause playback, switch to the next or previous song, change the volume or the progress of the song. If the playing item belongs to any albums or shows that have artwork, they will show in the background. If they belong to multiple albums or shows then you can click the artwork to cycle through.
