Creating/Deleting A Song

New & Delete Song Buttons

To create a song, click the New Song toolbar button or choose New Song from the File menu. This will create a new song and open the details view so you can edit it. If you want to delete a song, select it in the song list and click the Delete Song toolbar button or choose Delete Selected from the Library menu. This will pop up a sheet asking whether you want to delete just the song from Minim's database or also move all files associated with that song to the trash.

Editing A Song

To edit a song, double click it in the song list. This will bring up the details panel. From here you can edit information about the song, the lyrics, any collaborators and manage files. Use the tabs across the top to change between the various sections. To switch between songs while in the details view use the arrows in the top left. To exit the details view use the button in the top right.

The info section allows you to edit various pieces of metadata about the song, including the title, genre, key and time signature, temp and dates recorded and written. You can also add a description and performance notes. Another piece of information you can change is the master audio file. This field will list all audio files associated with the song. Choosing one of these will allow it to be used for playback.

You can also allow Minim to work out the tempo of a song for you. By hitting the tap button at regular intervals to the beat of your composition, Minim will calculate the tempo of it for you.
